kim jong kook debuted in the popular duo turbo in 1995 and went on to become one of the most successful solo artists with songs like one man, letter and lovable. he won all three daesangs from broadcast stations mbc, kbs and sbs going up against artist such as dbsk, ss501, epik high and sg wannabe. he is the second person and most recent to achieve such accomplishment. currently he is a part of sbs' running man cast. previously he was also a part of two other sbs shows which were family outing and the extremely popular x-man.
